Gifted — early learning games for ages 1–8 · Version 2026-11 · Made by Dipti Jain

This policy is published by Dipti Jain ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the Gifted app and website use, why, and the choices you have. It follows India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Gifted is made for young children, so it is set up by a parent or guardian. We collect as little as we can, we never sell data, we show no ads, and we never track what children do across other apps and websites.

1. A grown-up's consent comes first

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, a child's data may only be used with a parent's or guardian's consent. When you create the first player, you confirm that you are the child's parent or guardian and that you agree to this policy. The app does not work until a grown-up has done this. You can withdraw consent at any time by erasing the app's data (Grown-Up Settings → Erase all data on this device).

2. What is kept on this phone or computer

This stays on the device, unless a grown-up turns on Family backup (section 3). Nobody, including us, can see it.

3. An optional, locked family backup

Gifted has no accounts and no sign-in, and it never sends us how the app is used. Only if a grown-up turns on Family backup, the app locks (encrypts) a copy of the family's data on the device with a secret family code, and only that locked copy is kept on our website's server (giftedapp.in, hosted by Cloudflare). The code stays on your phone, and in your Google account's password manager if you choose to save it there, so nobody, including us, can open the backup.

The backup is updated after changes. It is deleted when you turn backup off or erase all data, and automatically if it isn't updated for 400 days. Moving to a new phone: purchases come back from Google Play by themselves, and Family backup brings back progress and Crumbs.

4. Payments

Purchases are made inside the app through Google Play's billing system. You pay Google with the payment methods Google Play offers; we never see or store your UPI, card or bank details. Google Play tells the app on your device what your Google account has bought, so it can unlock it on any of your family's phones; that list stays on the device. Google gives us a record of each order (such as the order number, the item, the price and the date) for our accounts, and we keep these records for as long as Indian tax law requires. Apart from a locked family backup we can't open (section 3), we don't keep your purchases or your child's details on our servers.

5. No usage numbers or tracking tools

Gifted contains no analytics, tracking or advertising tools, and no services from other companies apart from Google Play (for downloads and purchases) and Cloudflare (which hosts our website and, if you turn it on, the locked family backup). The app's fonts and pictures are saved inside the app, so playing contacts nobody else.

6. No ads

Gifted shows no ads, anywhere in the app or on our website, and no advertising company receives any information from Gifted.

7. What we never do

8. Who else is involved

Google, only through Google Play (downloads and payments). Cloudflare, which hosts giftedapp.in and stores locked family backups if you turn them on; it can't open them. Both follow their own privacy policies, and some of their servers may be outside India.

9. How long we keep it

Information on the device stays until you erase it or uninstall the app. A family backup stays until you turn it off or erase all data, or for 400 days after it was last updated. Payment records are kept for as long as the law requires.

10. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or erase your family's data, withdraw consent, or name someone to act for you. Most of this can be done in Grown-Up Settings. For anything else, or to complain, write to our Grievance Officer (section 12). We acknowledge requests within 48 hours and reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

11. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the version above and, for important changes, ask for consent again inside the app.
